Air Source Heat Pumps
An air
source heat pump is the simplest and
cheapest system to install. It's a stand alone unit
which can be placed inside or outside your premises. Air
source heat pumps don’t require any digging or
underground pipework. There are various different
models. Most domestic units are roughly the size of an
air conditioning unit.
An air source heat pump draws in
outside air as its initial heat source. It will provide
100% of your home and hot water heating, even when the
outside air temperature is well below zero. When
running, an air source heat pump makes no more noise
than a domestic dishwasher.
Air
source heat pumps
are between three and four times more efficient than a
modern gas boiler. Once installed and operating, you can
expect a cut in fuel bills of between 30% and 70%.
